Semana Santa in Guatemala

Guatemala is famous for its spectacular religious festivities during Semana Santa (Holy Week), and if there’s one thing that stands out is people’s dedication. Devoted followers carry big images of Jesus or any other saint or virgin for hours while walking on beautiful carpets made with flowers and colored sand.

The photos were taken in La Antigua (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and Quetzaltenango (also known as Xela), the second most important city of Guatemala.

Enjoy!
